1. IAF EQUIPS 40 SUKHOI SU-30MKI FIGHTER JETS WITH BRAHMOS MISSILES, STRENGTHENING LONG-RANGE STRIKE CAPABILITY –

Indian Air Force Completes Integration of BrahMos Missile

• The Indian Air Force has completed the integration of the air-launched BrahMos missile as total 40 Su-30MKI fighter aircraft inducted.
• According to the Alexander Maksichev, Co-Director of BrahMos Aerospace, the rearmament program is still underway and the additional Sukhoi fighters are expected to receive the missile capability in the upcoming years.
• This will improves the IAF’s ability to conduct long-range precision strikes while remaining outside the engagement range of the enemies air defense systems.

BrahMos-Su-30MKI Combination

• The Su-30MKI serves as the backbone of the Indian Air Force with nearly 270 aircraft in service.
• It is manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) under license, the aircraft is known for the its long endurance, heavy payload capacity and multi-role capabilities.

2. INDIA LAUNCHES WORLD’S FIRST NUCLEAR PROCESS HEAT-BASED HYDROGEN PRODUCTION FACILITY –

World’s First Hydrogen Production Facility

• The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has inaugurated the world’s first Hydrogen Production Facility which is based on nuclear process heat at the Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR) at Kalpakkam in Tamil Nadu.
• This project utilizes the heat generated from the Fast Breeder Test Reactor (FBTR) to produce hydrogen through the Copper-Chlorine (Cu-Cl) Thermochemical Cycle and it is the advanced technology which developed indigenously by the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Mumbai.
• This facility has been established as the technology demonstrator, validating the feasibility of producing clean hydrogen by using nuclear energy rather than fossil fuels.

What Is the Nuclear Process Heat-Based Hydrogen Production Facility?

• The newly commissioned facility is the advanced, capable plant that converts the water into hydrogen by using high-temperature nuclear heat instead of just relying solely on electricity.

3. OPERATION AMISTAD: INDIA LAUNCHES HUMANITARIAN RELIEF MISSION TO VENEZUELA AFTER DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKE –

• India has launched Operation Amistad to support Venezuela after devastating earthquake that caused the extensive loss of life, injuries and widespread destruction. It is a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) mission and it showcases India’s growing role as the first responder in international disaster relief. It also reinforces the its commitment to standing with the partner countries during the humanitarian crises.

About Operation Amistad

• Operation Amistad is the India’s humanitarian relief mission that was launched to assist the Venezuela after a powerful earthquake that struck the country on 24th June, 2026.
• This operation has been initiated under the India’s Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) framework and it provides the immediate emergency support to affected communities.
