On October 29, 2018, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) started observing the annual Vigilance Awareness Week which will continue till 3rd November, 2018.
i. Birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (31st October) falls during this week.
ii. The theme for 2018 Vigilance Awareness Week is: “Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India “.
iii. The following happens during the week:
• Establishment of ‘Integrity Clubs’ in schools and colleges to cultivate ethical values,
• “Awareness Gram Sabhas” are organized for awareness about the ill-effects of corruption,
• Outreach events are also organized involving the private sector, professional associations, trade unions and associations.
